This we’ll find out soon. Over the next few months, the other 42 countries that are due to take part in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest will announce which songs and singers will represent them in the finals in May.

Moscow 2009
So, who will come to Moscow? Turkey’s entrant is Belgian-born female vocalist Hadise, who seems to be having a bit of a flashback to Lulu’s contest-winning song with her tune “Dum Tek Tek.” When translated into English, it means “Boom Bang Bang”! Albania was the first country to decide their Eurovision entrant, back on 21st December last year. They’ve chosen a female vocalist called Kejsi Tola, who will perform a tune called “Me merr ne enderr” (Take Me Into Your Dreams). Look out for the traditional Eurovision key-change towards the end of the song! Bosnia-Herzegovina has already selected its singer and song - the rock group Regina will be performing “Bistra Voda” (Clear Water). However, the song has yet to receive any public performances, so we’ll have to keep our eyes (and ears!) peeled for that one. Some other countries already know which act is going to represent them but have yet to select a song. They are: Four-time winners the Netherlands have had a long wait since their last victory. That was back in 1975 with the brilliant ABBA-esque Teach-In singing ‘Ding-A-Dong’. Will The Toppers, formed of three successful Dutch singers in their own right, claim top spot? They’ll decide what song will represent their country at the start of February. Greece will be sending male soloist Sakis Rouvas. Sakis represented Greece in the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest with the memorable tune ‘Shake It’. He did very well indeed, finishing in third place. Can he go any better this year? We’ll have to wait and see once the tune he’s going to sing is selected. Israel have selected a female duo, Noa & Mira Awad, to sing their Eurovision song this year. Will these two ladies be as successful as this dynamic Diva who won the contest for Israel back in 1998?
